How to use
Find your age from a BS or AD date of birth
- Choose whether your date of birth is in BS, as on a Nepali citizenship certificate, or in AD, as on a passport.
- Pick the year, month and day. The age appears straight away.
- To know your age on another day, such as the last date of an application, open Choose another date and set it.
The main figure is counted in the calendar you entered. The line under it gives the same age counted in the other calendar, which can differ by a few days.
Age limits
Checking an age limit for a form or exam
Job notices, exam forms and many official applications in Nepal set a minimum or maximum age, and they check it on one particular day, often the last date to apply. Set that day under Age on this date and compare the result with the limit in the notice.

Questions about age in BS and AD
How do I calculate my age from a Nepali date of birth?
Choose Date of birth in BS, pick the year, month and day from your citizenship or birth certificate, and the calculator shows your age in years, months and days. It also gives your date of birth in AD.
Why is my age in BS a few days different from my age in AD?
Nepali months have 29 to 32 days and English months have 28 to 31, so the months and days part of an age can differ by a few days between the two calendars. The number of completed years is normally the same. For Nepali forms, use the age counted in BS.
How do I find my age on a deadline date, for example for a job application?
Change Age on this date from today to the date the notice gives, such as the last date to apply. The age shown is your age on that day, which is what an age limit is checked against. Read the notice for the exact date it uses.
How do I convert my date of birth from BS to AD?
Enter your date of birth in BS and read the line Born on. It shows the same day in AD with the weekday. For any other date, use the Nepali date converter.
When is my next birthday in the Nepali calendar?
The result shows your next birthday by the Nepali calendar with the English date it falls on, and how many days are left. The English date changes from year to year because the two calendars do not line up.
Which years does the calculator cover?
Dates of birth from 1975 BS to today, which is 1918 AD onwards. You can count an age to any date up to 2099 BS.
