Which system is used where
Ropani, aana, paisa and daam are used in Kathmandu Valley and the hill districts. One ropani is 74 feet by 74 feet, which is 5,476 square feet.
Bigha, kattha and dhur are used in the Terai. One bigha is 270 feet by 270 feet, which is 72,900 square feet, or about 13.31 ropani.
